After three years of design, quality and licensing work, a South African medicinal-cannabis producer secured approval in 2021. Environmental monitoring became part of the operating system because cultivation rooms could not be managed through occasional spot checks.
Quality requirements shaped the monitoring choice
The producer's responsible pharmacist and quality team needed dependable temperature and humidity records, with access to current conditions when staff were away from the room. Cannabis plants can respond to environmental fluctuation, and damp or poorly controlled conditions may increase quality risks that need investigation.
